Activity Choices
You will need to specify the two activity choices for each member of your party on the Order Form
ONE Activity from the following group:
Horseback Tour
10 years or older and 4'6" or taller, 1 hour, long pants recommended and shoes required, weight limit is 230 lbs.
Horseback tours are just one of the unforgettable activities you can enjoy at the beautiful Ranch. Horseback tours combine that special bond with horses with the most spectacular scenery on Oahu. On horseback, riders take different trails beneath the cliffs and overlooking the ocean. See the southern half of the ranch. Vistas of the famed "Chinaman's Hat" (Mokoli'i island) and an ancient 800 year-old Hawaiian fishpond accompany the great feeling of spending time riding horses.
Keiki Rides
Ages 3-9 only
This is a nice introduction to horses for those children who are too young to go on the regular horseback tour. Friendly and knowledgeable guides will help keiki (children) enjoy riding and begin to understand how to relate to horses. Children are led around on their own horse for about 5 minutes.
ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) Tour
16 years or older; shoes required; 1 hour
See the ranch up close and personal! Navigate your ATV through trails deep into scenic valleys and to remote areas rarely visited by others. ATV tours go out rain or shine - diggin' through the dirt and crossing seasonal streams are part of the fun! The one hour tour will take you over a saddle trail to visit a movie set and explore a WWII bunker converted to an exhibit of the Ranch's movie history.
Gun Range
16 years or older
The Gun Range offers an opportunity for target practice. 22 Caliber pistols and rifles are provided - 20 shots each for a total of 40 shots on the 25-yard target range. Safety briefings and equipment provided.
ONE Activity from the following group:
Jungle Expedition
Board your 6-wheel drive Swiss Pinzauer and rumble along jungle trails and up a lush, remote valley for fantastic ocean and mountain views. This back-country adventure tour will maneuver through isolated stream beds, power up hills and tackle rough terrain going to secluded spots that overlook the dramatic windward coastline and an ancient Hawaiian fishpond.
Movie Sites & Ranch Tour
The most popular choice! Board a ranch bus for a delightful one hour narrated tour across Kualoa Ranch and into gorgeous Ka'a'awa Valley to experience where many of Hollywood's biggest blockbuster movies and television shows have been filmed. Look for the Jurassic Park site, see where the TV show Lost has been filmed, find Godzilla's footprints, see the Windtalkers battleground and visit many more landmark locations. No guarantee, but you may just actually get lucky and see some filming in progress!
Hula Lesson
Hula is one of the defining cultural practices of Hawaii. Hula combines grace, spirituality and athleticism in a way that is uniquely Hawaiian. In this new activity at Kualoa Ranch, guests will learn this ancient art in a beautiful tropical setting. After learning about the origins of Hula, guests will be taught an ancient dance handed down from the 1860s. A fun filled one hour experience of the Ancient Hawaiian Culture!
*Ocean Voyaging
*this tour is not available Sundays and on federal holidays
The Hawaiian Islands are the most isolated group of islands in the world. Using only the stars, the ancient Hawaiians traveled to and populated these islands about 1000 years ago. Learn about ancient Hawaiian navigation on the Ocean Voyaging Tour. The tour goes into the beautiful Kaneohe Bay aboard a very comfortable 49 passenger catamaran past the famous Mokoli`i Island (Chinaman's Hat) and Hokule`a Beach, the ceremonial home of the first modern replica of an ancient sailing canoe. The views of the Ranch and Koolau mountains from the ocean are unmatched and the lively historical narration is educational and enjoyable.
Hawaiian Fishpond and Garden Tour
The early Hawaiians settled these islands and developed some of the most advanced agricultural practices in the world for a Stone Age culture. After Captain Cook "discovered" the islands in 1778, agricultural developments occurred in Hawaii that would leave a permanent mark on the physical, cultural and social landscape. The one hour Hawaiian Fishpond and Garden Tour explores different facets of this rich history by going through fields of tropical flowers, fruit trees and gardens before venturing out onto Moli`i Fishpond.
Legends & Legacy Tour
In the ancient days, before Hawaii was "discovered," the Kualoa area was one of the most sacred places on the island of Oahu. There are numerous references to Kualoa in legends and historical accounts as to the importance of this beautiful land. The one hour Kualoa Legends and Legacy tour journeys through the foothills to the base of the majestic Kualoa cliffs while the guides tell the legends and stories of the area. This fascinating tour, with its historical factual information, compliments the historical exhibit and an informative video at the ranch. A camera is a must!
